Wars have always impacted the fate of dogs living alongside humans,
serving as a measure of their status and human commitment towards
them. Dogs, like humans, are injured, killed, traumatized, and suffer
loss of family and home during wars. Documenting and researching
human-dog relationships in wartime reveals their status and the
importance attributed to them by humans, reflecting society and culture
during conflicts .
